Say It, Don’t Spray It
I tell ya, these cats are just out of control sometimes. They fight, they claw furniture, they try to make off with your dinner when you’re not looking. So what do you do? How do you put your foot down?
Well, I’m not really sure. I hate disciplining the cats because they’re cute. I can’t yell at them - that would be mean. I’ve heard that a little spritz from a spray bottle works, but even that seems cruel to me.
Lucky for me, Hazel seems to step in and be the parent to Olive more often than not. She’s not afraid to growl and give a nice boink on the head when Olive decides to be bad. Thanks, Hazel. You make this parenting thing so much easier for me.
Now what do I do when Hazel is bad? Man, this cat thing is hard!
This is one of my favorites. The third panel makes it so great. They are just like a couple of kids!
Our dogs are exactly the same way. Except there are three.
So are you ready to do this 5 days a week yet? I could use more laughs.
I wish I could put up five a week. I’d be at my screen constantly and the cats would probably do something really drastic to get my attention back. Possibly learn to use explosives or something of that nature.
The expressions are priceless! We almost need Super Soakers for our two little beasts…
I have two cats and two dogs, the older ones are constantly sprays the younger ones just like this strip
I have never sprayed a cat. Not ever. There have been times I have regretted that…
throw some change into an empty pop can and shake it at them when they misbehave. The noise should distract/scare them off. If not, use dynamite.
well done, matt! this one is my favorite so far!
Thanks, everyone for the comments! I love me some feedback and discussion!
@Dean - Olive would probably love dynamite - “pretty, pretty explosion!”
I recommend picking up that cat and throwing it on your guest. That way the cat really isn’t sure what happened and you get a good laugh.
Man, good thing no one has ACTUALLY thrown one of my cats … oh, wait. There was that one time.
This is great, loving all of your work so far. I have two cats myself, they are indoor cats at the moment both 6 years old so they are very spingy and wild at times.
Can relate to every one of your comic strips, brings back many memories where you just have to laugh out loud.
It was only a day ago my female cat “star” decided to pound my male cat “pookie” on the back of the head several times a lighting speed for eating his food…maybe he was making too much noise, ill never know 🙂
@Shelleey - Hilarious story about your cats! I love their names too - star and pookie - awesome.
Thanks for stopping by and reading! I hope you’ll stick around!
