Hazel’s Story (2 of 3)
So we got home with Hazel, and as I mentioned last week, it was slightly rough going at first. She was pretty freaked out by her new surroundings and would hide under our bed for hours at a time.
I tried different things like food and toys in an attempt to lure her out of her hiding place, but she just wasn’t having it. This actually went on for a few days and I was starting to wonder if the situation was going to work out at all.
So what happened next? Tune in next week for the conclusion of Hazel’s Story!
P.S. The angry Easter Bunny will also return next week, but to fit it in before Easter, I’ll be running it on Friday. So next week = two pages of CAAATS!
The first panel is the most heart-breaking. She doesn’t want to leave her home and her person. I want to shout to his wife, “Why are you making him do this?! Don’t you love him? Don’t you see what kind of pain you’re causing?” I’m just happy she went to a family that won’t give up on her.
When I adopted my cat Lena it took her a while before she adjusted. I almost gave up too, but I’m glad I didn’t. She’s now Daddy’s Little Girl and doesn’t want to live anywhere else.
Yeah, it seems like it takes some cats a little longer to get used to a new home. But I’m definitely glad it worked out too! 🙂
I have to agree, that first panel is heartwrenching. Man, the power of comics can really be felt in this one, Matt.
Thanks, Mark - I appreciate it!
