Ptuh
Yup, it’s true. Olive doesn’t know how to eat popcorn.
Every time I make a bag, she runs over to me and sits there staring me down, as if to say, “Well, are you going to share or what?” I eventually give in and let her have some, just to watch her chew on it for a few seconds and spit it onto the carpet. Yeah, it’s fun to clean up too.
I bet lots of cats out there have strange eating habits. I’m curious to hear your stories…
Oh that olive!
What a goof!
That used to be how my daughter ate popcorn. She has grown out of that thankfully.
Yeah, that’s no fun. Our daughter still tends to spit things out once in a while. Sometimes a bite of apple will have too much peel. “I don’t like it, ptuh.”
I think she likes the first bite with the salt and butter, after that, she’s not interested in swallowing the popcorn.
Coco’s nails are too long and she picks up the popcorn with her paw and puts it in her mouth. It’s hilarious to watch her do it.
Cute story- great graphics !!!
I remember seeing Coco do that years ago and couldn’t stop laughing. She was so matter of fact about it.
My cats are on the raw diet, so everything they eat is weird.
“Fish heads, fish heads,
Roly-poly fish heads.
Fish heads, fish heads,
Eat ’em up, YUM!”
I haven’t tried that one yet. I think it’s all the roly poly fish heads that are holding me back.
My senior cat is notorious for chewing & spitting on the dry Purina cat chow. He bites off the 4 arms of the chow pellet, spits them on the floor and eats the center only. He’s been doing this for 16 years.
Ha ha, that is really bizarre. I think you win the prize 🙂
Cool. I’ll let Rocket, the senior cat, know that he’s a winner!
I just got two kittens, and I thought briefly about naming them Olive & Hazel, like the CAAATS. I ended up with Prissy and Stubs, tho-they always name themselves with their behavior & antics, don’t they?
Ha ha, they do. Hazel is a bit of an old lady, hence the old lady name and Olive is … black like an Olive. In hindsight, we probably should have named her Ninja, but then I’d be stealing from another reader. 🙂
We have one cat that will take pasta or rice right off my girls plate. I think the weirdest thing any of my cats like to eat is our cat Littlefoot likes ranch, but I occasionally make a Chipotle ranch and she will just drink it up if she gets to it and it is the only item she will attempt to take off our plates even if we have not abandoned the plate.
Ha Ha, love the name Littlefoot! Sounds like she has a BIG appetite 🙂
I have 2 cats who are mad about lima beans and another who loves beets. One of the kittens, Sam Clemens, went wild for the pasta and butter on my plate, completely ignoring the ground beef. A friend had a kitty who loved carmels. It was hilarious to watch him chewing away at his carmel.
cat
It’s kind of the opposite of Bad Kitty; the cat who goes on a destructive rampage when there’s nothing to eat in the house but veggies.
My cat blackie before she died LOVED ham. If I made a ham sandwich, I couldn’t put it down or she would run off with the whole thing, dragging it along leaving a trail of food. Often she would try and climb me to get to ham. Once she jumped up into my lap and took a bite of the sandwich as I was. My other cat has a thing for pizza, she will even eat the crust if it is not to hard.
I feel ya there. Hazel is crazy about ham too. She can smell it from the next room. I even did a comic about it once 🙂

My cat, Coto, eats paper, vinyl, cardboard, strings, basically anything plasticy or long and skinny. Ties on your purse. Shoelaces. The corners of your new vinyl storage ottoman. But she especially loves books.
She also loves poundcake, Snickerdoodles, vanilla “Maagen-Daaz,” and jalapeño corn bread. No lie.
Yes, I have a weird cat!

That’s one adventurous eater! I try all kinds of things, but never books!
