We Have a Buffet Now?
It was a wonderful day for the cats when our daughter started eating solid food at the table. Anyone who’s ever had kids knows that at least half the meal ends up on the floor, which is precisely what the cats are hoping for. OM NOM NOM!
Georgia’s actually gotten a little older since I first created this strip, so more and more of the food is managing to stay on the table and make it into her mouth so it can be converted into fuel for her growth spurts. As a result, Hazel tends to follow us around howling for the rest of the evening as if to say, “Excuse me, but why was the buffet closed tonight?”
It’s so bad Hazel knows when its meal time and hovers under the table waiting!
And steps on our feel while we’re eating.
What about the little paw that comes up from under the edge of the table and tries to steal food off of your plate? They get in trouble for it but look at you like you are failing as a parent and they wouldn’t have to do it if you’d just give it to them. On a silver platter and on a linen table cloth.
Wow, they actually reach for the plate? That’s a bold move!
Purring the whole time with those wide open eyes. I swear sometimes they truly believe they can hypnotize with those things…especially my newest little girl….She’ll walk right up to you, purring, and start examining your plate to see what you have and what she’ll snatch first. Ballsy little girl, but I love her. And she knows it. Sigh.
That is such a cute story. With a little toddler and two kitty cats in the house there can’t be too many dull moments in your house.
Our cat Coco is a bit on the chubby side and our Vet always asks us if we are giving her people food. Well, sometimes. What can we do? She is spoiled rotten!!!
Another enjoyable comic!
Thanks a lot! Yes, there is definitely a constant stream of inspiration floating around.
