It was one of those rare occasions in which Olive was minding her own business; just sitting in the bathroom, enjoying being alive and in a bathroom. Suddenly Hazel entered, took one look at Olive’s face and decided that it needed to be punched many times.
Olive’s reaction? Grab Hazel with her front paws and kick with her back paws, using every ounce of cat might available to her. Hazel sailed through midair for about half a second, smacked into the side of the bathtub like a small sack of potatoes and dropped to the floor. She looked down sheepishly as if slightly embarrassed and exited the room.
Yep, the comics still write themselves occasionally.
Hazel has always been a lap cat. Whether I’m watching T.V. or trying to play video games, Hazel has to be sitting on me, no exceptions.
So you can imagine the problem it presented for her when we had our daughter, Georgia. Hazel will actually try to balance on my knee or squeeze in somewhere next to Georgia, even though there’s not really room for her at all and the manner in which she has to bend or fold herself can’t be comfortable at all.
But hey, I guess it’s nice to be needed.
